Meet the team behind learn Swahili,
Charlotte
Charlotte is a medical doctor who fell in love with East Africa and its culture during her internship tropical medicine. After teaching many years the course Medical Swahili A1, Charlotte now focuses on her work and daughter. She continues to advice the team on Medical issues.
Cynthia
Cynthia is a teacher through and through. After her first internship in Tanzania, she knew she never wanted to leave. She eventually lived in Tanzania for five years and has been teaching Swahili since 2005. To this day, she returns to Tanzania every year. Now based in Spain, Cynthia teaches Swahili full-time, enriching her lessons with travel tips and personal stories about everyday life in East Africa.
Atha
Atha is originally from Tanzania and has been living in Enschede, the Netherlands, since 2019. He enjoys sharing the ins and outs of his own culture and brings authentic cultural insights to every lesson. Atha speaks two African languages—Chagga and Swahili—as well as English, with Dutch being his fourth language.
